I get asked all the time which shoes are best for Eli's SMO (supra malleolar orthotic) braces. We have found Van's SK8-HI tops with a zipper in the back to be our favorite - they fit over his SMO's perfectly and are easy to get on. The trick is to size up a little. Eli is currently a size 5.5 so we bought size 6.

Do these seem pretty durable to you? I’m searching for new shoes for my nearly 4 yr old boy with SMOs. I’ve been having to replace his shoes every 3 months due to him wearing holes through his shoes in another zippered brand, so I’d love to find something cute that lasts longer!
When our little guy was wearing SMO’s we used to buy him the “og” white K-Swiss sneakers because they come in a wide width and they were perfect!
