Ella’s Way, a nonprofit organization in North Andover, MA was founded in 2013 by Sherry Zentner Cerino, a Registered Nurse and children’s book author. Ms. Cerino has practiced nursing for over 40 years, caring for patients in a variety of hospital and community settings including Pediatrics, Maternal Child Health, Intensive Care, Long Term Care, Special Needs and Rehabilitation. Having worked with many culturally diverse children and adults with medical needs and disabilities, Ella’s Way allows Ms. Cerino the opportunity to express her strong passion for respect and tolerance of differences.

Ella's Way has created a collaboration of 35 authors from around the work with unique children’s stories and messages of kindness to create conversations with young children about diversity, disability, acceptance and inclusion. Ella’s Way is an acronym for “Early Learning Leads to Acceptance” (E.L.L.A.) and each Ella’s Way story offers an age appropriate and sensitive introduction to diversity awareness at the age when children begin to form first friendships. Ella’s Way believes that diverse friendships formed between the ages of 4-7 years old will lead to long term acceptance of differences, respect and inclusion.
