“We are theLocklair family - David, Kallie, Jahleel and Peyton. We currently live in Indiana, where David is a full-time Lutheran minister. We have been married for almost 15 years. A long road with unexplained infertility led us to adoption, and Kallie's long-time work with children who have disabilities encouraged us to adopt a child with disabilities. In 2014, we brought our first child, Jahleel, home from Hong Kong. Jahleel's complex needs opened our eyes to the need for willing, prepared families for waiting children with medical needs. We were led to Camden in China, whom we adopted in 2017 when he was three years old. Then God gave us the biggest surprise of our lives when our third son, Peyton, was born to us in 2018! Our family also includes our pet beagle, Jackie.
Most unfortunately, we lost our beloved Camden in 2020 after a sudden and severe battle with myocarditis. That loss has forever changed us, but our hearts for children who need families beat more strongly than ever before. We remember how much our Camden thrived with the love, care, and faith in a family, and it convicts us to continue to grow our family. We are pursuing an adoption of a child with a disability or sibling group from Taiwan, ages 0-6, and are considering many medical and developmental needs."
